intermittent MB error

i am getting an intermittent MB error flashing in the display . the bill acceptor door switch has been jumped out.  when the error is there, i can enter the I/0 menu and the bill validator door flashes alternating 0 and 1. if i unjump the door, it doesnt alternate. i believe that is correct? if so, what would cause the error if its seeing the door closed?  i also noticed in the tests, battery 1 shows a one, but battery 2 shows zero. thats because the varta battery is removed?  i do not get a main door optics error.  when the MB error is there, the bill validator doesnt light up. when its not there, it lights and accepts bills.

Make sure your door switch optical alignment is correct.
Try lifting the door handle just a little bit ( like an1/8 of an inch) or
When you get the error try flexing the machine a little left or right and see if it goes away if it goes away for either of these the optics will need adjustment. The cases of IGT machines are pretty flimsy.

i think MB is money box, not the main door and its optics.

Try what I said. Door MB can also be affected by a bad mpu board caused by corrosion from where the varta used to be.

Also Door Open M is the main door or the belly door.  Door Open B is the Bill Validator door.  Door open MB means both are open and often caused by corrosion from the battery.  It will also throw reel tilt errors at you if it occurs while they are spinning.

A door optic bypass may make it work for a while. The cash box door & belly door are tied into the optic circuit. If it is indeed due to acid damage on the MPU, it will probably fail completely over time.

i saw another post with the same problem. it said if the game was left on and warmed up the error would go away. i left mine on and when i went back it was working correctly. i wish i had bookmarked the post, now i cant find it, but it identified the suspect component.

It could be a thermal intermittent then.  Usually the component will eventually fail completely.  Since you bought the board from a vendor here you may want to contact them and see if you can swap it out.

im going to jump out the belly door switch first. maybe its on the edge of failure. i want to be fair to the guy and exhaust all possibilities first.
