Found something interesting in a machine.

I think it may be some kind of free play or cheating device. It had 2 reed switches hidden in frount of the top floresent on the door, and was tied into the handle and a few other things but most the wires were cut. Has anyone else ran in to one of these and know what it is. I already have the machine working.

We used reed switches to foil folks using magnets to manipulate the reels.  It was tied into 120V as I recall and would blow the main 120V, both stopping the cheating, and also alerting attendant that machine was faulty.
I'd like to see the board you have, and also just where it went to.... pls pics of front and back of board?

I have heard about the anti cheat reed switches at first it was suspected that was what they were for. but the machine would only run with one of the switches closed. The other was connected into the handle switches and i think the mystery box. Most of the wires comeing out of the box were either cut or ripped off the terminals they were soldered to. The board is glued into the box and i dont own this machine i dont realy want to risk damaging it befor talking to the owner. The owner seemed to only care about getting the machine running tho so i suspect i will be able to disect the box.
