Jackpot with SP1137
« on: March 27, 2016, 08:38:58 am »
Hi all, ran into a funny thing here a while back. I have my Triple Diamond tokenized with an SP1137 chip. Everything works great but, a month or so ago I hit the jackpot (3 T/D) which is a 4000 credit payout.  Instead of going to credits it went to hand pay. Lights flashed bell rung etc. until I turned the reset key. Everything else goes to credits. According to the PSR when token is enabled the credit limit defaults to 9999. There isn't even a setting for it. There is no Jackpot limit listed anywhere I can find. I have the hopper limit set to 0 so when you cash out it goes to hand pay. My question is: Does the 1137 not pay a jackpot win and pays all others?  I had 758 credits on it, when it hit and went to hand pay. I have had over 7000 credits on it previously. It's only hit once (JP) since I've had it, about 3 yrs. Just curious if anyone knows a reason for it. Yeah I know 7000+ credits is a lot but like any slot machine. If you play it long enough it will take all your money. And I can always clear them and add 99 credits for each quarter. Just wondering if I'm missing something. Thanks.

Dave

The only thing I can think of is the dip switch setting when setting up the machine

Yeah I forgot to put that in. The dip switches are supposed to be and are: 1-4 on and 5-8 off.  It sets up like regular when not using a progressive setup. I am kinda stumped. It may just be programming of the chip. I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anybody knows. Thanks slots4home.

I was under the impression that the top award on all S+ games always goes to handpay regardless of credit limit.  Though I have never experimented with the machine tokenized.

Well I'm basing that off my Haywire machine. I've hit the jackpot on that and it always goes to credits. The top pay is 2500..Beats me?? Thanks, Rick

I don't really know then.  What is the base denom set to on the machine that hit the jackpot?  It is going to be either a credit limit issue, or over $1,200 issue.

It's set at a quarter. But at 4758 credits that's still only $1189.50. I don't know, and it's not like I'm going to hit that once a week or year maybe. It's not that important, I was just curious. It still could be a program issue with the eprom. When they're set up to do those odd things, you don't know what else is in there. Like the token credit limit is set to 9999 automatically.  Thanks again.

I dug through the PSR, and assuming everything you've posted about your current settings is correct, I don't see why it went into a handpay instead of just adding the credits to the meter.   :scratch-head_2:

I guess I'll get it down to 0 credits and step through the set up again. I still wonder if there is a jackpot limit that is causing it. The PSR doesn't mention it but if you look at the PSR error codes page for a 61 error it says to see 61-1. There is no 61-1 on the PSR page. So there may be some things omitted. Thanks.

It could just be a quirk with the 1137 that any top award automatically locks it up.  I mean, in a traditional casino setting, there pretty much isn't an S+ game I can think of that you'd want the top jackpot to go to the credit meter or hopper since the machines were designed for hopper payouts, and you don't want to send x-thousand coins through the hopper.  I see that you have that set up with your Haywire machine (with a different SP chip), and yes, it should be documented if that's the case with the 1137, but that's my best guess.

As you noted, IGT's documentation is far from perfect.  I've found flaws in various documents (PAR and PSR documents) over the years.

While I'm going through it I will look for a stray setting above 2700 and below 4000. If I find that I will document the location and set it higher. Then hope for another jackpot.   :cool_thumb_up:
