New Blazing Sevens Alpha / A Couple of Questions

Hi, hope everyone is doing well.  I recently found this forum and just wanted to thank everybody for all the informative posts!

I’ve been a big Blazing Sevens fan and player exclusively (well, maybe with some Quick Hits and Black & White Doubler machines tossed in as well) for the past decade, and owned a Japanese style pachislo slot machine for about that long, so I decided to finally kick down and get the real thing.  I’m also a newbie in the slot technician world at one of the casinos here in Colorado, so I figured it would be a good learning tool as well.  Here it is, my new Alpha, up and running great so far, and go figure it’s already hit the progressive twice (well, technically the top jackpot, as I’m still figuring out where I’m going to be able to find an older laptop to tackle reprogramming the Mikohn!) 

I have to admit that since I mostly learned on and deal with the older 6000s, and I hadn’t had much experience with the S9000s other than being a player, I was blown away at how easy they are to program and setup.  As it’s currently set up for paper currency in/handpay credits out and no ticket printer, I’ve been playing with penny denominations and things I haven’t seen too often in the mainstream casinos.  It’s actually been pretty fun playing at a whopping 3 cents per pull max bet!

My questions for the moment:

1. I’ve noticed that a couple of members here might be or work with distributors.  Does anyone know where I might be able to find a Blazing Sevens game topper for this machine?  I’ve found a few sites on the net, and so far no luck.

2.  I’m trying to figure out what specific payback percentage this model has.  Although I’ve hit the top jackpot on it twice so far, I’m ultimately looking for the highest payback percentage available.  So far, I’ve only found the theoretical payback percentage on the master accounting screen, which looks like it’s hanging right at around 90%.  I’m also wondering if I’d be okay with just getting a new game CF card (I was able to download the June 2009 catalog to get what I believe are the correct SMI and Artform #s so I can begin my online searches), or if it would require switching out the adapter board or finding a different EPROM, as I’m not exactly sure of the scheme of things with the conversion part of it.  The ones I’m interested in are:

SMI 6894, 97.18%, Multi Denom, Progressive 112267
SMI 8687, 97.50%, Progressive 110489

or whatever it would take to get these percentages on my machine.  I do realize that there are limitations utilizing the progressive with multi denoms, but I’m just checking out my options for now.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick heads up I was able to investigate further, and being a newcomer to the Alpha 9000, the part I wasn't getting after I first got the machine was whether or not I could get a higher payback percentage with a different CF card or OS.  Turns out I'll need a set of 6000 series SMI chips to apply to the converter board, and the 97.18% is extremely hard to find.  My three other options currently available (rounded up) are 90, 91 and 95%, and I've noticed a huge improvement programming it at 95.  Big thanks to Jim at Bettor Slots for the info, along with the awesome game topper, money bowl and denomination badges he had available a few months back.  These, along with a 3 tier candle from SuzoHapp, made my setup even more awesome.

So, still looking for the hard to find blue vs. red topper insert, and the rare SMI 6894, 97.18% chip set, so if anyone should happen upon either, feel free to message me or reply here.  I'll also post in classifieds.
