i have seen a few people ask for board repair as a service and I'm just curious. is this something that people actually want? i have rework equipment and repair most the boards i get in that are dead, but i have never really thought that it would do well as a service because a lot of boards can be gotten fairly cheaply now.

I would think so. Especially since, for example, California law is now allowing the IGT S plus. Many people who get these, get just one machine and don't even think of spare parts (I have 4 spare MPU's!) so they may want someone to just fix their board for, hopefully, a nominal cost. I've been able to repair many of mine but I have some electronics background and, of course, I'm here on nlg getting help from the pros like you, especially with that awful Bally EVO I had.
I'd think there would be a market for board repair especially if you dealt with most common game manufacturers. I think it would be very important to advertise here since everyone will go to the internet, and likely end up on NLG.

ya i guess that gives me a different look at it. the standard home user is probably the person i was expecting would need the service least but maybe i am wrong. i probably would not consider myself a pro but when you have 80+ of these things sitting around you do learn a few things. I'm having evo fun as we speak. small scale i will work on just about anything. large scale i only have test chassis for.

most of my work these days seems to be monitor rebuilds and antiques.

Do you have the means to check and repair the Kortex chassis p/n K1782-A01 or P/N KT1703N-A01.. Both can out of 17' IGT GK machines.. I also have a couple S2000 502 and 504 MPU boards that look perfect but have problems..

I dont get many kortex chassis in but i do work on them. What are the problems with the 50x boards? So you know im in Arizona.

I think I have a couple that won't go past close main door. I'd have to find them and check the messages I have on them. All I remember for sure is that there was not visible damages and the Varta battery's were removed. The Kortex 1782 chassis were very dark even with the contrast and brightness turned all the way up.
