IGT Fortune 1

IGT Fortune 1 video poker machine will not accepts coins. Machine displays as though it's ready to play, with "Insert Coin" flashing. Coins drop through to cash tray without registering. Tripping the cherry switch manually reacts the same. Tried swapping the switch with a known working one from another machine with the same result. Tried swapping the main board into a working Fortune 1 "Twenty-one" machine, and coin registers on that machine. Did the same with the interface board, and coin registered as well. There is power at the cherry switch. Continuity of wires from cherry switch back to interface board is good. Any suggestions as to what to try next would be appreciated.
P.S. - This machine was received in non-working condition, and I have no history on it.

One leg of the cherry switch needs to connect to machine ground. The (-) leg of the 2200 uF capacitor near the large crystal is part of the ground and should Ohm out to one leg of the switch.

Thanks for your response. Following your instructions, I'm not getting a ground on any of the wires.
And when the machine is powered up, going left to right, looking at the switch with the door open, I get 13.6, 13.6, 4.1 vac.

If you are not getting continuity to board ground you have a problem. If the buttons are not connected to ground there is no way for them to complete the circuit. You need to find the ground wire and trace it from wire loom to the pin on the board. The coin-in switch likely uses the same ground.

There are some schematics in the NLG file system available to contributing members but Badbaud already pointed you to a good button ground point.

The 4.1v reading doesn’t sound right.
