s2000 battery issues- 2 difference machines, 2 different battery issues

ive got an s2000.  comes up with a main battery low error. main battery is 3.65 and there is 3.65 at both ram chips.  varta is removed , there was no acid damage that i can see. looks like it didnt leak before removal.  sometimes is boots up ok, bill acceptor lights up, and then in a few seconds call attendant, main battery low.  any ideas??

second game, an s2000 enhanced.  coin battery slowly discharges, tried two different batteries. loses about 1 volt in a month.  2 diff cpu, same problem. backplane board??

On the 2nd machine that has the battery losing voltage over just a few weeks I would inspect the circuit boards carefully to make sure there is nothing on the board like a beverage spill, water damage, prior battery leakage, etc. Any type of residue on the board can be a conductive path to slowly drain the battery. If the boards are clean then I'd replace the cmos ram chip.

where is the ram chip? piggyback board, main board, backplane?

Post photo of the board with the battery, someone can id the cmos ram chip.

ram chips on the enhanced board are bga chips and are not easily replaced.

3.6v is to high for a coin battery. What are you considering the "main battery"
