Mummy Returns VERY SLOW during bonus game

Hi all.
I have a Mummy Returns game and replaced the power supply. It had this issue before I replaced it, so it isn't the power supply, but it did go bad.
The problem with the game is only when the bonus game is activated. The game just stops. I sit back, have a beer and then it finally goes through the bonus round with no sound, just incredibly slow.
Any idea what is wrong? It was not that way when I got it from Bill at Keystone. But when it got home, it had issues and then the power supply blew out.
Any help is appreciated.

I would open the top box and top box computer to see if something wiggled loose or some foreign object is floating around inside. Check all plugs and check the bottom around the MPU and what not for the same things

Also check battery levels, especially the green battery if the game uses a 1270 enhanced MPU. Your top box computer will have a CMOS battery also

It does come up and say battery low on the small LCD screen. I see a 2032 back there. I'll pick one up tonight and poke around in there.

Ugg, not letting me post a reply! Battery replaced, message gone, now I get sound card error message and no clue how to resolve it after reseating the connectors in the top box.

Sound card error is one I haven't heard of before, bit I would suggest removing it and cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser then try again

Just for kicks lift the main door latch all the way up, count to three, then lower it ALL the way down. Do this three or four times.  ( make sure it goes all the way down )

It's easier to try the door trick first. If that doesn't fix it then  start looking at the simm.

Ok, FOUND THE SOUND CARD!! unplugged and reseated the connectors and the sim card, booted it up, then got a whole NEW error!!! Display's NETPLEX link is down. It stays like that, then I get the sound card error instructions again. Opening the door and doing anything with the sound card and hitting the bonus button does absolutely nothing.
