Mei zt1202 not accepting bills

I have a s+ triple diamonds with a mei zt1202 bv and I’m having issues with it getting to work. When I move the switch on the side to test will take a bill and put into the stacker. But when returning the switch to normal/interface mode and cycling power it only pulses the motor for a half second every 10seconds or so like it want to clear a bill. If I set the switch to calibration mode will take a bill halfway in and then spit back out. Anyone have an idea how to fix of what would be a good replacement for this bv?
