cut wiring, needed or not?

I am working on my project S-plus, and I think it is going to have all kinds of problems, but on this particular subject, I have a green wire and a green with blue splotches on it, that came from my cash box door switch, someone in the past cut these wires in multiple place and I have no idea on where the original ends ran to. I do know that there are 2 solid green colored wires running out of one of the plugs located under and to the right side of the MPU case. I also have a yellow with a black tracer colored wire that is cut with the others, the one end I can find goes to the right side of the machine case and up towards the spin handle, can anyone shed some light on this  spaghetti looking mess?

The green and green/blue wires you are referring to are likely for the cash box door switch that most home users remove from the switch and tie together. Doing this fools the machine into thinking that door is shut. Unless you plan on keeping it locked, it tends to vibrate open during game play and throw the machine into a door open error stop

Cowboy games, I knew that's what the Green and green/blue wires were for, I could trace them from the cash box door switch, to where they were cut in one of the multiple spots. would I be correct in saying that the machine will not function if the wires are not connected to each other, due to it being an open circuit? the bad part is, I have 2 solid green wires that are cut, but I dont know which one to connect back to the Green/blue wire to complete the circuit

The other greens could be from telltale circuits, but I'm not positive. Hopefully our s+ specialists will chime in soon

My late model S+ (with the bill validator) has 2 green wires running to the cash box door.

Yes if you tied off the wrong ends or the wire is cut farther down. That will work just like the door optics. They're still optics and the machine will see the door or doors as open. You said it was kinda cut up. I would trace it back to 2 complete leads and tie it off there. Make sure it's not unplugged on the other end. That will still show an open circuit.

O.k Shaggy, I traced the Green/Blue wire down, it runs up to the center of the machine and goes into the connector with the optics for the main door, so I assume I know to tie into that wire, but the next thing is  I am not sure which green wire to use for the other, I have 2 cut off green wires coming out of my plug, one I assume goes with the yellow/black wire that the other end is coming from my pull handle area, so I am not sure which green to use.

Green is common ground. Test the leads with a Ohm meter and see if they are connected throughout the machines ground system somewhere, if so tie them together.

Badbaud, I got the wires figured out, I spent forever last night tracing the wiring on another of my S-plus, I am not sure what someone was trying to do on this game, the other green wire, and the yellow/black wire both go to the switch for the spin handle has also been cut off.

Well since I did get all of the wiring reconnected, I am calling this topic solved, But the bad thing is I still have the open topic on my error that wont go away, I guess this will be a one step at a time process.
