Bally Alpha S9000 (2006) Bill Val Firmware

Just had 2 Bally S9000 reels machines serviced in Dallas, Texas. By the time I got them home in OK something happened. I can’t get them to take any bills, error msg say clear NVRAM or replace bill val firmware. Need help with either or, thank you in advance.

Did you verify they worked when you picked them up at the repair place, before you brought them home? That's always a good idea, especially when you have a long trip.

Odd that both would develop the same problem on the ride home. I'm wondering if the repair work was not completed or something was left undone, not connected, etc. Might be worth a call to the place you had the work done, surely they stand behind their work, they know what was just done to the machines and could give you tech advice specific to that.

The bill heads were probably switched around.  Bally keeps track of the validator head and if they have different firmware, they will tilt.  Swap the the heads around see if that fixes it, if it does not, you might have to clear it to get rid of the error.

I tried switching them and that didn’t work, thanks though. I would of never thought of that. Would you know where I could get a clear card. I’ve seen them on eBay for about $30 but I’m not sure what I need.

I’m at my wits end. I may just have to clear it. My OS is a 317-02 64MB, Bally Alpha S9000. Any help on what AVOCLEAR# will clear these machines and where I can get one would be great. Thank you in advance.
