JCM WBA BV won't enable in a IGT S-plus.

This machine had a dead battery(code 12) The battery was changed but the machine was stuck in a 61 code loop,which I cleared. Had to re-enable the the BV which I did with set chip 90. when I return the program chip and power the game back up and the 61 code is cleared,  the machine resets.,and is ready to play. But the BV does not enable and when I check the machine settings, the BV enable option has reverted back to zero 9 -0. Has any one experienced this problem? The BV always cycles when powered up but remains dead to bill acceptance. I think the BV head is bad and is not communicating with the machine.The person who this machine belongs to said the BV was working before the battery went dead.

Sometimes on a S+ you need to set the denomination in test 6 before the set chip will lock in it's settings.

I had a couple S+ where it took 3 times setting 9--1 before it took.Ended up doing a clear then setting up again before it took in one case.

I have set that BV enable ( 9-1) at least 10 times and still it reverts back to 9-0. I have no way of testing the BV for bill acceptance to determine if the BV is good or not,however there is a shop here in Reno that can.
 May take it in to them. It's up to the machine owner.

OK, but just to make sure when you change the 9--0 to a 9--1 you tap the spin button then set  the denomination then you hold the test button until the display blinks off then comes back on with a zero in the coins played meter.

Yes , that is exactly what I have been doing every time, but I will try it again.
