A few basic s2000 questions

I have  short top 3 reel, five line, 5 credit Super Times Pay.


First off, on this forum, is there a "bible" like there is on the S-Plus forum?



Are there more games / glass available for short top and 3 reel 5 line?


Is it possible or worthwhile to convert it to a 5 reel?


My game runs fine with the exception that only 1 speaker works.  It's definitely a wiring/board/programming issue, not a speaker issue.  I switched the plugs between the speakers and now only the other works.  obviously I could just hard wire both to the same output, but I'm assuming/hoping that maybe there is a point in the game where the sound "bounces" from left to right.  Is that the case?

This is a problem with some 500 series MPU boards I believe where you only had mono sound. I have seen a thread on this where there was a way to fix it by possible switching a couple wires on a plug on the sound amp board. The other thing I’ve done is to cut and splice the speakers wire together. That way you get both speakers wiring. It’s sounds good when done and no ones the wiser.

Do you have a MML2 board and sound SIMM installed on your MPU?  If not, and you’re running the basic S2000 default sounds, mono sound is all you get.  Installing the MML2 board and a dedicated sound SIMM will produce stereo sound.

Is it possible or worthwhile to convert it to a 5 reel?

i convert between 3 and 5 reel games all the time. how difficult it is depends on the age of your cabinet and the age of the parts your swapping in, but for the most part its unbolt the old parts and bolt new ones in. the biggest problem i run into is the button deck, and making sure it has all the proper plugs for the type door displays that are in the machine. sometimes i will just take the entire door off the parts machine all igt doors sag and need adjusting anyway so its not a big deal.
