I have another S2000 with issues of the bill acceptor not ressponding and was going to clear and start from scratch. I installed the clear chip and all I get are the two top green lights and one blinking amber. The display reads "Displays NETPLEX Link is Down". My question is does the clear chip take awhile sometimes to clear or do I have other problems? Thanks

You may have a bad power supply.

I swapped out the power supply behind the reels and still getting the same message and lights. Ideas? Thanks!

When you clear you should get the two green lights followed by one steady amber. The delay is about 6 seconds before the amber. Normal for the netplex message you are getting
When you key you should get two amber LEDs.
What board set and what clear and key chips are you using?

A couple things to keep in mind. Your varta battery (big green one) or your coin battery may be bad causing an issue with your CPU, or your CPU could have an issue itself. Check to make sure you have your clear chip installed correctly. However based on your symptoms it sounds like you are having an issue with the bottom board of the CPU. Most of the time it is fixed by what i mentioned.

I have the S2000 enhanced board with SB100222 and game 523. I tried it again with the clear chip (224) and I get two green and no amber. When I installed the key 31 chip I get the two green and two steady ambers. I then installed the base chip and get he Display Netplex Link Is Down. I switched power supplies and nada.

Enhanced needs key 45
How long did you wait for amber after clear 224 sometimes it takes 10 or so seconds on enhanced?
Do you still have the green Varta installed?
If you do I suggest removing it and the U16 chip (you must do both) a bad Varta will cause netplex error.
What is the voltage of the coin battery?

I installed a new 2354 coin battery. I will remove the green Varna battery and remove U16 and see what I get.

I removed the green Varna battery and U16. When I put the clear chip in I get two green lights and a blinking amber. I then put the key chip in and get 2 green lights no amber. The Display Netplex Link Down message is steady on. When I install the base chip, the Display Netplex Link down is flashing rapidly but I canâ€™t get past it. Does the power supply need to be installed tightly? I have it in snug but there is still a little movement.

Power supply should be pretty tight.
Are you using a key 45?

No, I only have a Key 31. Iâ€™ll try and tighten up the power supply and see if that makes a difference. Iâ€™ll post in the classifieds for a Key 45. Thanks.

You need to wait for two solid amber lights when clearing with 224, one will appear before the other one. I have a key45 if you need one.

Does it take awhile sometimes to get the solid amber lights? I have left it in for a couple of minutes and they just blink for me. If you could send me a PM with your email I can Paypal you for a Key 45 chip. Just let me know the total with shipping. Thanks for your help!

Thank you. I snugged the power supply up tight and I still am getting two green steady a blinking amber. I will try to get the Key 45 and see if I can get past this. Thanks fo4 your help!

When you clear an s2000 you get 2 green and 2 amber some times the amber lights take a wile. sometimes come on at the same time or staggered. One is to show the sram has cleared the other shows the eeprom on the motherboard has cleared. if you get only one or one blinking your either have either the wrong clear chip or you have a bad sram, eeprom, or board damage to the traces leading to them. â€œDisplays netplex link downâ€ is just the display telling you it canâ€™t communicate with the mpu this is normal during a clear.
