Older model S or S+ slot machine, no sound issues

This machine has the credits, winner paid & coins played display on the right side rather than the bottom so I'm not quite sure the model but I'm not getting any reel spin sounds, coin drip sound or winning combinations sounds. I'm using a 10 Mhz board & have made sure the small speaker is plugged up & tried the volume control pot on the main board but still no sounds at all. In case it matters on the model of this machine, the main board slides in on the left side of the machine rather than the back like a standard IGT+ machine. Is there anything I can check to get my sounds to work? Thanks

you probably have an early model S+ machine,  make sure the volume pot is not turned off,put it in the center position, you will see a tiny piece of plastic on the wheel as you turn it, this is the center position, the white test button is located on the outside of that housing about in the middle,  press it until you see a 50 in the winner paid window, the spin button should  be lit, press it , it will make an audio tone, each time you turn the jackpot reset key it will change the number and the tone,  this will test all the sounds this machine will make.

make sure you dip switches are set accordingly 1234 on 5678  off.
