Stinking rich video slot static while reels spinning

Hi all.  I have consulted with many members over the last couple of years who have helped me fix 3 different machines!  Thank you!  I'm hoping you all can help me with a machine I just purchased.  It's a stinking rich video slot. An igt I game I believe.  It has a few issues but looks great and over all everything seems to work.  The biggest issue right now is a hissing or static buzzing in the background from the speakers... This only appears to be present during the time the reels are spinning.  I just bought it from a guy today and didn't notice it at his house when I went to pick it up and tested it... It not too loud but noticable in the background.  Any ideas?  I'll get some pictures up in a bit

Some background static is normal, but it shouldn't be really noticeable.  If it's pretty loud then your MML2 sound card is starting to fail.

Thanks for the reply.... It's.not terrible but noticable.... This would only make the hum sound while the reels are "spinning" ?  How much is the MML2 card and where is it located?  Is there a way to test to be sure that's what it is?

It a daughterboard that plugs into the MPU board.  They're around $20 or so.  There are some sound tests you can perform from the diagnostics menu, but they're not going to help with the static issue.  Really all you can do is swap it out and see if it improves or not.

Are there different sound boards for specific games or is the board interchangeable?  How does it remove from the mpu? Does it just pull off?

there are usually two screws holding the card, opposite the connector. then the board pulls off, straight up.
