Kiesub electronics has some edgelit led panels for backlighting glass.  They're designed for 24VDC so you'd need an adapter to power it with.  They look great in a machine, but they're on the $$ side too.

Those look really nice!  Looks like they plug in just like the 24vdc led strips, no adapter needed:

EDIT: OK, I see now the OP just wants to backlite wall art with those.

I might be a buyer even at the $55.00.  It's later in our lives than we think.   I have never seen a hearse pulling a U-haul.


I have 2 questions.  1 Does the whole panel get lit or just the edges? 
2 Will it light with less that 24 volts?  I have a myriad of transformers for old electric gadgets.  Most LED's that I have dealt with will light, at different intensities of course, anywhere from 6-24 volts. 


I will call them on Monday and report back to the group.

It lights the entire thing.  The leds are just around the edge of the panel rather than the back.  It's referred to as edgelit rather than backlit is all.  I attached a couple of pictures of one I have installed in my Game King.  I got it from Happ awhile back.  It came with the metal bracket that holds the panel against the glass and the whole thing in place.  You wouldn't need that since it's going in a frame and it doesn't appear one is included from Kiesub.  When you're talking to them ask for the dimensions too.  Mine is a little larger than the glass, so you'll need to make sure it will fit in the frame. 


Not sure on less than 24V as mine is running in the machine off the power supply.  You just disconnect the electronic ballast and plug it in there when installed in a machine.
