IGT s2000 Vision - non enhanced error "please close door" error

Hi All,


Working on this slot for a friend. I did repair this slot about 1 year ago. Low battery error. I replaced the coin battery, came up ram error, did the jp switch and other stuff, and it came right up. I got it working!  I did not use any clear chips. (Stepper GME   SG000027)


Now, the game was stuck in tilt reel and close main door. I did go into menu and tested the main door switch and it did work. I did also test reels and they worked. The coin battery was 2.9 volts so I replaced it. I know that doing this was going to cause a ram error.
The ram error came up, did the jp switch and machine now says "Please close door". Its just sits there like that forever. I did try jp switch and button on main with no luck.


My next step is to try using the clear chips. I need to order them. I think I need to order a clear 97 and key 17.
Do you think this will work?  ANy thoughts?

Has the green Varta battery been removed? They will go bad and start leaking acid, then can damage the small board traces under it.

The handle is all the way down. I did test it before i replaced the coin battery using the menus diagonstics.


The green battery was replaced about a year ago when I replaced the coin battery originally.

I did not even know where this is at. The bill acceptor door switch has been by passed. The door optics switch works as I have tested it through the menus before I replaced the coin battery. I guess i will look for the belly door switch.

The door optics are a pair of IR emitter and detector , not a switch.   go to I/O test #4,  go to 4.1.3, choose  main door test,  now close door and latch, the zero should be toggling from a 1 to 0,  if not then something in the optic loop is open, or the varta battery may have eventually took out a know good board.

Hi Jim,


The door test did function correctly. After I replaced the coin battery, I received the ram error so I cannot get into menus to test again, but I did test it and it did respond correctly toggling from 1 to 0.


I am going to try a clear memory and If that doesn't work, I believe the board would be bad. I still have not checked the belly door cherry switch yet.

Ok, tried the clear memory and have the same problem. It says "please close main door". Like I had said before, I did used the utilities to test main door optics and it did toggle between 1 and 0.


I never found belly door switch.


Should I replace the main board?

Open the belly door and look at the top left hand side.  If it's not there then someone removed it.   If it's been removed then the green and blue wires that went to it should be connected together to bypass it.  Check in the area of the switch for the wires and make sure they are still connected together.

Great News! Machine is working!


Replaced main board and door optics. Preformed clear and key chips. Configed machine. Good to go!
