Bally 5500 DBV-200 suddenly won’t take bills

My Bally 5500 has a DBV-200 that worked fine but suddenly isn’t lit green and won’t take any bill at all. Doesn’t take and reject, just won’t take any. Cycles fine on start up but bezel not lit. No settings have been changed on validation or machine. Will take a bill all the way through on stand alone test with just power applied but still not lit green. Any thoughts? New validation needed or quick fix?


Thanks to suggestions by Jim from Midwest Slots, we found that the wedge we had under the bill stacker that was holding down the switch there wasn't doing it's job so the DBV thought the stacker was out of the machine and therefore wouldn't work.

I usually bypass those two switches, the door switch and the stacker switch, then you will never have that problem. For home use you don't need that level of security.  When the switches are bypassed, you can remove the stacker, then you don't have to fool around trying to get it out to get your money, the bills fall into the open area created by not having the stacker in there.and when you need to feed the machine, you can just open the door , get your money and feed in back in. With the door switch bypassed, your machine will never know the door was ever opened.  simply take the common wire and attach it to the wire that would have changed due to the door open or stacker pushing on the switch.
