Stars & Bars 5000?

I'm an IGT S+ guy, but am offerred a Bally 5000 Plus (that's what it says on the front) Stars & Bars. Beautiful condition, exciting looking machine, super price; but....1. Fires up on 83 error; serious problem or easy fix?2. Any idea what the % is? And can I get chips to change the %, like I can for the  the IGT S+?3. Any general comments, such as "run like skat & don't look back" ?Thanks!

Cheese, my apologies guys, I should have known better!!! Taking my own advice, and that of so many others, I checked the older postings. Indeed, I read all 18 pages of the Bally reel section. Now I have all the answers to my technical question (thanks to superb contributors like Badbaud and Amechanic) without bugging anyone, and will proceed accordingly. If I learn something new, I'll post it.
But I would still be interested in knowing if I can get chips to alter the payout; for family and guests I'd like the highest I can get, 97% or higher. (For dear sweet Grandma Ola, I'd love to give her 150%!)
