S2000 Machine Mismatch and Closure M error

Hello,


I bough a non-working s2000 Wild Cherry machine with a call attendant code.


After a jackpot reset ram error code.  I hit the test button & jackpot key 4 times.


Machine stated low battery and M code.


Board is a 1952, coin cell battery had been previously replaces.  The green battery is not there, no evidence of corrosion.


I replaced the coin cell battery, and did the jackpot reset again.


Now machine states: machine mismatch, closure M code.  The denomination states $.25 = ----.


Thinking my next step is a clear chip reset?  Is this correct.   I am not clear on procedure, but can look at old threads.

Key chip it with a key 31 or 45. Set machine type to upright. Not necessary to clear but every S2000 owner should have a clear & key chip.
You do have to clear it if you wish to change the accounting denom or encounter an unrecoverable error. I have some available if needed.

Some key chips settings if blank or corrupt can be set without a keychip. Machine type is one of them. I would try setting it. You may get lucky and end up with a playable machine. I would definitely recommend a full clear and reprogram of the machine tho eventually.
