ITG 1994 wiring issues with coin comparator and door sensors

hello! I have just purchased an ITG "star spangled sevens" slot produced in 1994. it has come to my attention that someone has cut the wires to the coin comparator and also removed any door sensors leaving two exposed wires (two in the door and two in the cabinet).   this machine has the 12 error and so I've ordered a replacement battery and also a 61 error loop and so I've got a clear card ordered from America (2/3 week shipping to UK).


if someone could send photos of their coin comparator and so I have have an idea of how to wire it up again to check if its working etc and also ideas to directly wire any door sensors?

Can You post some pictures of the inside? It looks to be a modified machine.

This should be all of the wiring for a S+ coin comparitor.

I would agree it might have had some modifications yes, not much though. Following that picture from Ken I wired my new JST XG2 clip into the side of the coin comparator and tested to see there is now voltage in the comparators circuit board. The light doesn't come on how ever I am aware it only is on if the door is shut. How would I bypass the missing door optics? Just as a test I dropped a coin in but it fell straight out the bottom into the tray, also the little white button does not add credit... any help?


in the third photo you can see a battery bodge which gave 3v just to clear the 12 battery warning. this was how I received it all it did was replace the AA batteries- I have ordered the correct battery now.

Could you slide the coin hopper out and pull out the MPU tray?

Looks like there's an MPU tray lock on it tho.

What the are those "Kodak" cannisters for..... with the red and black wires? 

Somebody "hot-wire" your MPU?

yes someone replaced the battery with 2 AA batteries.

If they measure over 2.9 volts DC you should be okay then.
It's pretty easy to bypass the door optics...there's several references as to how to do it in the S+ area of the NLG forums.
Here's a good example of a manual switch instead of door optics....>>>

yep 1.5v a cell .. 3v in total. I've got the correct battery coming soon anyways. ill have a look at bypassing the optics.
