Display passes self test boot loop

I have a Double Diamond Deluxe 3 reel machine (S2000+) and this started yesterday for no apparent reason. the slot sat idle for about 30 minutes and it just started displaying "Display passes self-test" over and over and will not boot.
I checked all of the connectors, and they seem good. I pulled the MPU and pressed on all the chips. The CR2354 battery reads 3.04 volts static with my meter, and there is no Varta battery.
The MPU lights are green, green, yellow, flashing yellow, yellow, yellow, green, flashing red.


Any help would be appreciated.

The flashing red lights means there's something wrong with the MPU.  Do you have another set of game chips to try?  While it is not common for the eproms to go bad, it does happen sometimes.  The red lights on the mpu means the system is not passing all the tests upon power up.  The easiest way to diagnose this is to try a known working mpu in the machine.  The message "Display passes self-test" would be displayed if all you did was apply power to it, it isn't until the mpu connects to the display that any meaningful message appears, and you are not getting that far.

Unfortunately I do not have another set of chips or another MPU to try. I did pull all the chips from the daughter board on the MPU, and reinstalled them. It made no difference.  I have a call I to the company I bought the machine from and their tech will call in the next couple days.

I would rather not say at this stage. I want to see how their customer service is first. So far my dealings with them have been slow, but good.

Update
 I talked to the tech support from my machine, and the tech is sending out a new mpu board and a power supply. He said it could be either of the two and it was easier to send both than have me wait for a 2nd shipment.  :mail_2:

I'll bet when you told that tech guy over the phone you saw a red flashing LED his heart dropped....haha

Gambler's Oasis sent me a new MPU, and after putting it in, my game is up and running as it should be.
