Little Casino slot machine by Digital Controls
« on: October 07, 2024, 10:01:25 am »
I have a chance to pickup one of these tabletop slot machines It has 5 games; BlackJack, Poker, Craps, Slots, or Horse. It's from the 80s and It's in good working condition (at least as of now😊).
Does anyone know about them? Is it worth getting I assume there is nothing available for it. I'm also concerned because it uses a CRT (of course) and I'm sure NOTHING is available for this machine.

Nice novelty bar top. NLG had a Triva version of that for sale in their Laughlin store.

Is it worth buying ?? depends on the price tag I guess..... at $1500 I would be taking a hard pass and setting up a laptop with one of the many casino game sets.

If your paying $<200 and have the space for it. I would roll the dice and buy it. I am at the point where I find something cute and cool and my wife asks me what I am planning on parting with to make room for it.  She is cruel. LOL

I can probably pick it up for $200. I noticed the CRT is pretty weak, do you have any idea if I would be able to put an LCD screen in it?

I have no technical background on this unit.
To answer your question it would depend what the signal output is from the board.
Old school video games were CGA. You can find a million or two CGA to VGA upscalers on eBay/amazon/aliexpress - once you have a vga signal a lcd becomes a drop in.

Given that this is a crt it’s a good chance that you would be able to convert the signal to something modern. If it was already lcd then you could get into all kind of commercial video signaling like lvds which can get complicated.

Sorry that I can’t be more help.

Good morning Gameking6:
I have one of these machines, 'Little Casino II' from digital controls.  Pretty neat little simple gambling machine.  My machine is the smaller tabletop with the small asahi-seiko type coin insert.  Machine is from my grandfather's vending company in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  A few notes from my experience; all access to CRT pots is in the back door to access the board- make sure you have the key.  Tech access is from the Philips head screws in the bottom (underside), around the lazy susan.  Whole plastic housing of machine pops up and off.  Fan needs to work- machine puts out a lot of heat.  There are another set of boards that were titled 'US Games' and had a ton of trivia on them.  All boards are interchangeable by sliding them out the back board door.  Game/ price/ odds/ settings are all controlled by dip switches on game board.  Fun fact: the female serial port on the back of the machine (near board door) is to connect a keyboard and program in custom advertisements in the attract mode.  Let me know if you buy it- I have a manual for it somewhere.

Thank you Floridagaming for the offer but I decided against buying it.
