i have a complete igt s + triple jackpot 2 coin slant machine

it works

it is complete

it has a bill interface that can take up to 1,5,10,20,50 100

the bill accepter is disabled,

do i need to remove any chips to re enable the bill changer?

according to another thread i have to put in a game chip or some thing

i dont want to change any part of the game i just want to enable the bill thing to make it work

can i do this with out pulling any parts or replacing any chips to enable it?

i have all keys

what is a set chip? how do i get one , will i or could i screw the machine up? should i just hire a person to do it for me?

can a person set the machine to be "looser" so my family friends win more often ? currently it is not as fun as it IMO could be

It's a chip that has the necessary code on it to enable the bill validator and set the denomination.  It's pretty easy to do, but yes you could screw something up if you're not careful.  Biggest thing to watch for is making sure you put the chip in correctly.  Put it in backwards and it's possible you may damage something.  The other is bending pins when removing and inserting them.  Send member RB a PM, he can get you a set chip.

The SS chip determines the payback % for the game.  Yours may be a low % chip that could be changed to something higher.  You probably won't notice much of a difference though.  The payback is calculated over millions of plays.

i am not comfortable at this time to do what you are describing i googled and there is a guy some what local who does repairs i thank you for the information i am going to reach out and see what he thinks and how much he charges for his services . perhaps after better educating my self i might attempt this in the future if i have no luck with him

Other than just a better pay back - You can also change your game to one of the many other "fun" themes like Haywire - or Spin to you win, or even double diamond (or triple diamond) deluxe.
You simply change out your game and reel chip along with the glass and reel strips. The themes I mentioned have special features like the reels running "haywire" - forward and backwards and making all sorts of weird noises every time you hit a haywire symbol, on the double diamond the reels nudge up or down based on the direction of the diamond if they land above or below the reel line. I also like some of the multi line games.

The reason I mention this is that each time you change your theme you have to re-enable the bill validator using the set chip.

Popping out the MPU board, and changing the chips is dead easy. They are in sockets - you simply edge them up from each side using a small flat screw driver.
The chips are marked at one end with a small circle and the socket has a small knotch - even if you were not paying attention you pop one out, and you put the other in the same way. Just line up the symbols.
When you put the chips in - You line up the pins with the holes and press down evenly - its when people rush they don't have all the pins in place and one bends or they put the chip in backwards.

I cop to having put a chip in backwards before - neither the chip nor the board was harmed. Not recommending you do this but most likely nothing bad will happen.
You are far more likely to do damage spilling a coke or coffee on the board than swapping a couple of chips.

I can understand your uncomfort doing this but the chips are in sockets and its dead easy. I would suggest you buy the chips as suggested and then when you take it to the repair shop - have the tech show you the procedure so you can then do it yourself the next time.

Given the size of a slant top machine - I would really recommend that you have the tech come to your place to do this. You can't just take the MPU board to him.
The MPU communicates with the CMOS chip that is on the MPU board and with the fixed Motherboard that is in your machine.
