Dollar Bill Validator Not Working

After getting my machine back up and running (thank you to everyone) I noticed the DBV was not going through it's boot up when I powered up the machine. I checked for voltage and nothing. I removed the cover on what I believe is the power supply (see pic below) and it looks like it overheated. Can that part be replaced or did something else down the line cause this?

Those power supplies are old, that is a power supply for the first generation 145 or 200 head bill unit.  they do go bad , just like any other electronic assembly.  it should be putting out 12 vdc, there are two cables that come out of the power supply,  one 12 pin connector plugs into the machine harness toward the back, it supplies 115vac to power the supply and also connects to the motherboard for comms. the second cable connects to the head.

Once again, thanks Jim. It is a 145. I have attached a close up of the damage if you wanted to look at it. I could not find any voltage on the two cables. I did not check the voltage going in. I can do that this afternoon. I am interested in those parts.

It can be repaired, but...

This link shows an inexpensive power supply that can be put in place of the power supply board, you would use the existing communication/board to complete the swap. Not too hard to do.

Thank you Trisail for your kind offer but I kinda want to keep it as original as possible. I did install the replacement power supply (thanks Jim) and the DBV powered up!  During the power up there were grinding nylon gears so I shut it down to make sure everything was installed correctly. I removed the DBV and cash box and reinstalled them. I guess it was because it's still doing it.  The light on front of the DBV is on but when trying to install a bill it doesn't take it. I'm guessing I need another 145 and cash box? What do y'all think?

If bv bezel lights - the machine is ready/enabled. If it won't take a $1 bill and put credits on the machine - probably a
bv switch setting or wring problem? As the bv was probably working before, I would check wiring carefully. You can test the head separate for bill acceptance,  search the site a bit for how to do that. If I find it later I will post a link.

Thank you Trisail. Sorry I haven't posted this earlier but the DBV is now working. I took it all apart and cleaned it. Not sure if that was it or if Trisail was on the right track with loose wiring. Thanks for all your help on this one.
