Video Problem

Hello, I am hoping someone can give me a few pointers on troubleshooting a video problem.  Machine was working find, walked away and came back 15-20 minutes later and the screen was basically blank with some colored bars around a few spots on the edge. i have re-seated the motherboard, and monitor but still have the same result. Wondering if maybe the video card died? Also removed MB and monitor says no video input which looks like the monitor is working. Lastly, the monitor touch screen seems to work as i can touch it in the the SPIN area and hear the machine do it's thing. Thanks for any help!

Its behaving like its disconnected from the video out.
Sounds like the machine is new to you - Its not implausible that something loosened up during transport so follow the wires and reseat any connectors.
On my older video poker my monitor is mounted in a frame and the whole thing just plugs into a single plug like my hopper. Wiggle that a bit and my monitor goes out.
In my case the power disconnects but I am sure you get my point.

I don't have touch screen but that is typically a different circuit and the touch screen overlays the monitor.
..... or as you say the video card died. IF the above doesn't work I would turn it off for a few hours and see if it comes back - could be a heat issue on some component.

What kind of machine ?

Hi Jay,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have had the machine about 2 months and am getting pretty familiar with it. What you describe i did have happen when i first brought it home. The monitor tray had slid out a bit and caused my video to not work. So that was one of my first things to try. The machine is an IGT iGame with a 3902 Motherboard. Picture of the machine attached.

Do you have a laptop that you can connect to the monitor?  That would help you determine if it's an issue with the monitor or the 3902 MPU board.  There isn't a video card per se, it's integrated into the MPU board.

Hey Tilt,
Good news, better news! Confirmed the monitor was working after connecting to computer. Strangely enough, connecting back to the machine, it is working properly. Maybe just jiggling the VGA cable did the rick? Sort of like adjusting the impact factor back in the days when we had tube TVs. ;-)

That's great news, love the easy fixes  :applause:.  Probably the beau plug or the VGA cable on the monitor needed to be reseated.  Glad you got it running, enjoy!
