Fresh install help

I'm thinking about kicking my GK 8.3r software to the curb.  I would like to install more slot games and the GK package is killing my NVRAM.  My guess is I could install a lot more games if I made the change.  Then I could install maybe a stand-alone blackjack and maybe 1 poker package.

I was wondering what steps I need to follow to get this change done?

If I could somehow keep the GK type menus that would also be ideal.

I don't even know what OS and menu packages and stuff I would need.

If someone could provide an "idiots guide" to how to do a full fresh install onto a brand new SSD it would be much appreciated.

(PS, i'm a complete idiot when it comes to this, as much detail and explanation you can provide would be much appreciated.)

Here's a guide I've found useful for setting a machine up from scratch.  Don't miss the note at the bottom of page 2.  I believe a member here wrote it, but I'm not sure who.  Wish I did so I could give them credit and thanks for it.
