Bill acceptor will not take bills CDS reel deal UV-1510

Looking for some suggestions to get a WBA-11 (maybe 10) bill acceptor in a CDS reel deal poker machine UV-1510.  The unit will not recognize a bill inserted - does nothing. 

The bill acceptor tests fine using the dip switch process,  and the unit lights up in the front of the machine when the machine is powered on.  I have been through the setup menus and the device is set to quarters, and bills are all enabled to be accepted. 

I purchased this machine, the previous owner stated he replaced the battery and added the bill reader when the screen on the device died.

Is there something else I need to do here or any suggestions.   I read through these forums some discussion on set chips. 

any suggestions or help appreciated.

Not sure if this applies to your machine. I have a CDS reel slot and I had the same issue. I used WBA BV and I had to get an updated EEPROM for the transporter V3.80 ID003. These CDSs use ID003
