Future logic Gen 2 universal printer connection issue

Purchase a mav500 buffalo machine from a casino and it had the future logic Gen 2 universal printer in it and I see they just unplugged the connections but everything is there to connect it back to the machine.  The question is the coiled plug that actually plugs into the printer and is in place but was not connected has a 12 male connection pin plug head and the female connection point on the printer has a 18 pin connection point. I don't get it because this is the way it came from the casino and I figure they just unplugged all the stuff because they can't sell for home use with the printer working in the state of Nevada.. Thing is I can't figure out how that should connect and I don't want to force anything. Am I missing something here? Thanks
