Yet another question on the J43 games

Can you tell me, does it matter what version of the OS (I'm on 323A) you run. ie Will the newer OS mess with the older games?   Mess with the lighting effects??

The newer OS versions were never meant to be used for the older games, or the older cabinets for that matter like the J43 and Twinstar SG1.  So your mileage may vary.  The newer cabinets, like the Cosmic, do not have all the LED lighting and even the LCU boards are different than the J43.  The newer games will also display differently on the J43, some light up and change , some do nothing. They were meant for the newer cabinets. 

I would stick with the older OS that supports the older games.  No reason to use a newer OS.  Newer is not necessarily better.  No advantage in using newer unless this has a bug fix.  All games have a minimum OS requirement, stick with those and you can't go wrong.
