V2000 Need help with power supply issues and machine history

Hey guys, need some help with a newly acquired V2000 poker machine.

Hoping for a history lesson as well as someone willing to share schematics and/or details on how the power ckts operate.
Could sure use the power supply schematics and also MPU schematics.  This is my first major effort with a V2000 machine.

Issue #1) J18 jumper plug for AC power selection.
DC voltages are alive and fan works, but +5V reads high?
So checked my wall outlet and measure 122 VAC, then checked the J18 plug... Find it is not wired per the book for either selections.  Set it per book for 120V operation and now hear some humming, but get no DC voltages & no AC power to the fan.(only thing connected to AC).
Returned J18 to previous state & DC voltages & fan are back on.
UPDATE: Using the correct positions per the book is now working, there was a bad connection on the input connector.

  DC Power Readings:
     +12V is 11.9 VDC unloaded
     +5V is 6.3 VDC unloaded; 6.1V with 3A dummy load.  UPDATE: +5V supply has a sense line running to the CPU stack, without the stack connected, the sense wire is not connected.
  By mistake I powered unit without J18 jumper installed.  Had same DC voltages...


Issue #2) What should the +5V output measure and is there any adjustment? Do the MPU boards have their own regulators?  These  are the 3-board MPU assembly, marked V2337-27  UPDATE: +5V should be +5VDC +/- .25V (per Bally specs)

Issue #3)  Have another V2000 cabinet with nearly same glass, but measures 19" wide (this one is 16" wide); and has completely different Supply board & Power Terminal board.  Same 3-board MPU assembly, marked V2337-27.  Would love hearing some historical details on when the V2000 machines came out, when cabinets and power supplies changed.


Background

Never saw this machine work.  Did a complete tear down & scrub of this cabinet. Reinstalled the harness and everything xcept the MPU & monitor. Wiring harness is not yet connected to the door, MPU or monitor.

Am testing with door completely disconnected from wiring harness; no MPU or monitor.
The 3-board MPU assembly, is marked V2337-27.

I have the Bally V-2000 Video Twenty-One BlackJack Manual F0-850-17 from the download section, but circuit board details are incomplete.

The weakest point on the power supply board is the dual diode "door knob" part mounted on the smaller heatsink.
Replacing that part with a known good one always got the power supply to work.
But they are impossible to find.

I did a tear down on a supply board a while ago and removed all of the electrolytic capacitors and all of the silicon components but leaving all of the connectors in place. Basically stripped it.
Then I mounted a small SMPS power supply with it's outputs connected to the plug on the power supply boards.
I use it to power any Bally, 3 card rack I am working on.
2 years without a glitch.

Thanks Badbaud  That sounds like a great way to go.

What voltage spec's did you use? 

Remember what the SMPS part # was?

Data sheets on existing parts show:
   2N6050  +5V, max continuous current is 12 Amps
   IP140A +12V regulator max is 1.2  Amp
Guessing to look for an SMPS with at least that much current output plus a little head room.

Checked continuity on the MPU from some of the 74LS chips power pin to the 5V input connector pins, so looks like it uses 5V directly.
