WMS BB2 NOT BOOTING ALL THE WAY.

Hi Everyone,

   I have a BB2 that's starting to have issues.  Has anyone seen this during boot up?

Cycling the power doesn't change this.   Could this be a hard drive issue?

I need to ask, what are those two wires for?
The red and black ones plugged into the MPU, next to the hard drive?
I have never seen that.

Im not very literate in the PC style based machines but a Google search indicates the drive doesn’t have a file system for Linux to boot.
Possibly an error on the partition or as mentioned the bios battery died and bios needs to be set.
I suspect you can plug a keyboard into the MB and get into bios setup.
Its possible the bios battery died. Once it is replaced you will need to go into bios and set date and probably boot sequence..

That is what happened with the Area 51 we were working on a few months ago, cross your fingers that is the problem and not HD failure.

That is not the case with this slot machine, You would need a clear card and set up the machine if you remove the batteries.

You could try reseating the connectors on the Hard Drive to get past the error on your screen.

Seems maybe I should change the battery and clear it out/reload to start.   I hope the hard drive isn't having issues.  I do see used ones on ebay.  BUT, they are used so I could be back doing this again, if that's the case. I better go look up the battery # and get that changed out.

I did try the usual reseating of plugs, etc.  I will have to make sure I have a clear card on hand.  What is the hard drive used for on this slot?

Here is a video of the boot sequence.  I don't know if it helps. Does anyone know the battery number for this by chance.  I'm sure I can find it with a search, too.   This is the link to the video........it's on YouTube.  if you look around at other video's, you'll see this isn't the only machine with problems!

I just noticed the time is wrong on bootup, yeah, time for a battery change.
