Purchasing G23

Looking to purchase a G23 from Slot Machines Unlimited. They are stating that the machine will come with 3D monitors, I'm assuming these are the same as MLD? I would like to play some of the reel depth games which I know require MLD and a dedicated video card. Anything else I should be aware of before purchasing? Thanks!

This is correct the MLD monitors are the 3D monitors. You do have a much better game selection when you have these monitors. Definitely the way to go. See if they’ll verify for you that all the monitor fans are working. These monitors produce a lot of heat and can burn out if they don’t have all of the fans running. When I got mine one fan was not working and a second one was dying. It wasn’t too difficult to replace them but wished I knew it before.

Thanks! I will ask about the fans. Did your G23 come with a dedicated video card? If so, do you know the model number?

Have them send you a pic of the nameplate.  The advice I followed was to get a "G23MLD_V2" with 4 GB RAM.  This model has a 625 brainbox. You can upgrade the video card with a drop in E6760 video card at a later date.  The upgraded brainbox with the E6760 video card is a 660 brainbox.  There are several threads on NLG about this.  You'll want to purchase an EKEY and a diagnostic flash drive so that you can modify, delete or add games, and clear any machine freezes..  My go to for G23 software is RB, a member here.  He can help you out at a reasonable cost, or point you in the right direction.

I'd also ask them to make sure all the button displays work.   They're expensive to replace if they're dark.
