You can make a one time contribution and get access for a month. Someone needs to pay for the server space.

Everyone on this site is a volunteer. Most of us have regular jobs too. This site is full of free information, and free tech support,  on multiple types of gaming machines. There are "how to's" and "FAQ" sections all over NLG to assist people like you to fix your machine for free.
OR you can just call a slot tech, if you can find one, and pay through the nose just for him to walk through your door.
There are costs associated in running the website and that's where the contribution money goes. 
It's not a "sad excuse" - it's reality. There are costs associated with everything, and someone eventually pays.

If you have a specific need where you need help, please post in the appropriate section and someone will jump in to assist.
If its any consolation the manuals are not particularly well written, and most slot techs learn from each other as opposed to a manual.
If you need a PSR or PAR sheet we often attach these to a reply post, on request, where we can see it will help. Same goes with specific schematics.

We also have a general section where you can introduce yourself, tell us about what kind of machine(s) you have. We have a games room section to post pictures of your toys.
As a community we help each other and immensely enjoy sharing our hobbies with those just starting out. The quickest way to alienate others is to bring a sense of entitlement.
This is not necessarily just a comment about this site, but in all walks of life. You only need to be on social media for 10min to figure out who the "Karens" are.

NLG got started as most slot companies considered that knowledge of their machines were privileged and you could not find information anywhere. From there a few of us home users got together and shared what little we had along with knowledge from our tinkerings and 20 years later we have built up a considerable collective of knowledge some of it is in manuals, but a lot of it is in brain trust.
