Endless problems

So I have two brain boxes for my G20, a family 14 box and a family 20 box. Family 14 worked just fine, and i had my family 20 box in. I wanted to go back to family 14 and it has been a nightmare. I've done it before without issue, just this time seems to be the last straw for my 14 brain box. It started out as getting the blue AVP screen and getting a no IGT signature found. The ribbon cable seemed ok, but one of the ends sketched me out so I started there. That did not work. Then I read and saw a video about how the boot chip on the card that the ribbon cable plugs into (connecting the backplane to the brain box) could be an issue and to try removing and reinserting it. I tried that, it popped out at 30 mile an hour and hit the floor, braking two of the tiny legs off. So one EBAY purchase later I got the exact same ship as before, and now I do not get the signature error, but now I get the "storage authentication failed" error. I tried using a 240 gig PNY SSD instead of the hard drive just to see if that made a difference but nothing. Would anyone have any ideas?? I feel like i am losing my mind with this machine lol. I have wiped it and set it up many times before with zero issue, this time is a nightmare for some reason.

The Storage Authentication Failed error usually means you didn't load the machine in the proper sequence.  And can only be cleared by wiping fully and reloading again.

In a nutshell.  You must do it in this order.

1.  Boot with ekey and diag key plugged in.   On the diag menu, check all 3 boxes to clear NVRAM, SafeStorage, and the Drive and click to wipe all three.  Once it completes, click the option to reboot.  Once you hear the brainbox "beep", power off the machine.

2.  You must have a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive with ONLY the OS loader file on it, and no other files.   Plug in both the ekey and USB flash drive with the OS loader file and power on.  The OS should load and tell you when it is completed and to power down.  Turn off the machine at this point.  (Do not load games by plugging in the ekey and a USB flash drive with game loaders on it, or with the OS loader and game loader files on the same USB flash drive and powering on the machine!  If you do this, it will load them, but when you reboot, your machine will do the same and display "Storage Authentication Failed" and you'll have to start all over again.)  You need one USB drive with only the OS loader file, and another USB drive with only the game loader files on it.

3.  Remove the ekey and USB flash drive and power on.  It will take a bit, but it should bring you to the "Configuration Required" screen.  Insert the ekey and complete basic machine configuration.  When you get to the page on adding games, skip that portion until you're no longer prompted to do anything specific.  It should tell you to remove the ekey, and when you do, it will display a "No Games Configured" screen.

Now plug the ekey back in, and plug in the USB flash drive with your games on it.   Now go to Setup > Game > Manage Packages and select the games to load to the machine.

Once that completes, it will make you exit, when you do, unplug the ekey and plug it back in to get to the ekey menu again.  Now go to Setup > Game > Enable/disable Games and configure the paytable and enable each game you want.

Once you have done this, remove the ekey and the USB flash drive and close up the machine so all doors indicate they are closed.

It should display the games you enabled and play normally.  If it displays a game but won't play, accept bills etc.  Check again to ensure all doors are closed and it indicates they are closed on the screen. If any indicate they are open, it won't allow to you add credits, etc. until all doors indicate they are closed.
