Bally 9000 Bill Validator Comm Error

Bally 9000 bill validator comm issue. My mars bill validator always worked with no issues. Printer never worked. Finally decided to swap the printer with a working one. After I installed the new printer, I ran a clear to set the device. Printer works great. .but now I have a bill validator comm error. I checked all connections to the validator, even unplugged everything and plugged it back in. No luck.
I tried a clear again, but as soon as I back out of the devices menu, it shows bill validator comm issue. I set all the other settings and closed the door, and it looks normal..but my validator isn't working.  .or even lighting up. Just to get it going, I threw a tito in it and set it as printer -no validator.  Tito works. Prints tickets. .and since I set it as no validator, it works great. What would have changed to mess up the validator? (Picture shows validator lit up before I swapped the printer). It cycles normal, and has the normal green light flash..but before I clear it again to attempt to set the validator back up, I thought I'd seek the groups advice.

Right now it's working fine with the tito. Adds credits.  Plays. Prints tickets. That's fine for me, but I'd like to sell it in the near future, so I'd like to have everything working again

This is a long shot and probably nothing to do with the problem but, I once had a communication problem on my S9000 machine. I believe it was an overheating problem as I found two fans weren't operating. One on the right side and the one on the top. The machine is full of fans and the machine is sensitive to overheating. After replacing them and checking all fans, I never had another problem. I didn't do anything else to the machine.

Don't neglect the two power supplies on the left lower side wall. The plastic foam filter crumbles with age and the inside of the power supply can resemble a vacuum cleaner bag. Blow it out with air if dirty (outdoors).
