Bally 6000 not firing up

My friend bought a Black and White Double jackpot, 3 reel, 5 coin, .25 cent slot machine. Put in new battery, did a full clear, put mains back in and have no display in coin or credit, reels don’t spin.  Removed mains and noticed U28 main has one broken leg.  I was able to read the eprom made a copy of it with another EPROM, same results. Is it possible due to the broken leg I’m not getting all the coding off it?  Put a MPU from my machine in it every lights up and reels spin. Any advice would be appreciated

Swap the known-good chips from the known-working MPU onto this one - to see if the board is any good.

Put mains from other machine in an everything works. I assume I need to find mains somewhere?

Look at the datasheet for the eprom.
More likely what happened is the pin that broke is an output enable
In most instances there is enough of a nub sticking out where you can put a component lead into the socket and solder it to the nub. Its a common repair technique and perfectly acceptable.

It is interesting though that you were able to get a read without an error. There are pins on a lot of eproms that are not used.

I actually cold soldered an extension to the missing pin and than took another copy. Maybe that’s why it worked
