Author Topic: WMS BB1 No Video Signal (Read 101 times)

I recently moved my WMS BB1 out of temp controlled storage and tried to fire it up. I received a no video signal error on the monitor. The bill validator cycles. All power lights are lit. I replaced the VGA cable and the CPU with no luck. What am i missing? TIA

Try reseating the memory board on your CPU (board with memory stick and cooling fan/heatsink on it)

Thanks for the response. I have tried that and still would not power on. Some other things I have recently tried were: Leveraging an external monitor, changing batteries and a ram clear. Nothing happens even with the ram clear card. I am really at a loss given I have complete power.

Try reseating the mpu (remove and re-install) making sure it is all the way in. If it was working before you moved it, it is likely your mpu is not seated well on the connectors.

Thanks! I thought with a new CPU and board I would be good. Is the MPU different?

The MPU is the whole assembly (the rectangular box with the motherboard, adastra board (CPU, memory and bridge chips)). If you don't know if the mpu was working before you fired it up, it is possible it has gone bad. You could also try removing the battery and booting the system without it to force it to clear CMOS. Sometimes a bad CMOS will prevent the system from going through POST (Power On Self Test).
