Just Purchaseed a IGT Players Edge Draw Poker

Hello Everyone and Happy Fathers Day!!

I just purchased an IGT Players Edge Draw Poker, Model: B 1070CF, DESCP. PE Plus Poker, Date MFD 5/89.

Im in the process of replacing the battery on the motherboard and I noticed that the game chips are dated from 94 and 95.

Did this machine get a motherboard / chip upgrade later in its life?

Thats a PE plus, they were manufactured well into the 90s. I think later than 1995. That looks all original, including the Ceronix 1492 board. How is the image on the monitor?  If you attach a picture of the monitor board so I can see the top I can probably tell you if it has factory capacitors.

Actually I just looked again and I can see the tops of the original brown capacitors. Those probably need to be replaced. If the monitor won’t start that is probably the cause.

Good Morning!

Im waiting to change out the battery. It displays a call attendant low battery and it looks good.

The coin acceptor seems to be original? It does not have the newer coin comparator.

Yup, it looks good, there is some heat browning in the typical places so when a cap kit is done the solder around those resistors and diodes needs to be reflowed. The yoke pins will need solder reflow too. But it still might work.
The game should recover from battery change without any problems, they are pretty straightforward. You might have to press the reset button or turn the key a few times…with Door open I think.

Hello,

I got it set up on a stand. I replaced the buttons as some of them were sticking and put in new fluorescent bulbs. Now its looking mighty nice!
