S2000 - Sound without in-line amplifier board

Hi,




I just had an S2000 Sizzling 7, but this machine has no in-line amplifier board in the top box.


As a result, the sound is very very low and the sound of the spinning reels covers melodies.


I noticed that there was a mini-jack chassis on the MMLB, can I connect speakers for MP3 player ?

It shouldn't hurt anything to give it a try. Most devices nowadays use a standard audio level that is compatible, as long as the mini-jack fits ok. But if you can obtain the IGT amp made for the machine you'd likely enjoy it better. They shouldn't be too costly or hard to find.

You could probably wire the amp out of a pair of computer speakers inline from the output of the MPU to the machines speakers. The amperage should be about right.
Or have an amp board mailed over...

Oh, didn't know about your location, I agree that overseas shipping is a consideration on total cost. As cowboygames mentioned perhaps you can find an amplifier locally (like the speakers with builtin amp used with desktop computer) and connect it to the audio signal the machine is making. It should just be a 2 wire connection. If that mini-jack is not an audio output connector what else could it be?

Does the machine have any sound settings that control the volume setting, maybe it is set to a lower volume?

I would have to guess that iack is an aux input they thought might come in handy some day. Could be a fixed low level output, but you'd have to run it to an amp, like computer speakers for example, to find out

Everything is ok, I have finally sound. 

I did as Cowboygames explained.

I followed the wires of pin 1 and 2 of the J19 connector on the motherboard 960.
They go in the top box.

I have plugged into a mini-jack chassis for headphones and I plugged the above speakers (JBL Duet), and it worked very well, with a very good sound !!!

Nice ending indeed!  Sounds like you've got a "100 or Nothing" sound SIMM running in that machine.  I think it's DSV00023 if I remember correctly.

The coins fall right after the win because the jackpot limit has been exceeded.
