s plus with dbv-145 not working
« on: May 31, 2016, 09:26:51 am »
s plus with dbv-145.  the bill validator stopped working. when it starts up, the validator clicks about 7 times, does a very short ( 2-3 sec) running of the gears, then the 7 clicks again.  when on, if i remove the cash can and make or break the cash can optics, it does a much longer running of the gears, sounding normal. i can remove or install the can , does the same thing. i thought the gear on the can might be jamming, but inserting the can doesnt jam the unit. .  if i turn on the game with the bill head in the flipped up position, the bill head rollers run for a while. bill head down, back to the click click.

i pulled the power supply and found the large cap had cold solder joints. resoldered, no help.  it is a vented power supply. if i knew the pinouts i would test it.

i will say one of the round  brass nuts that secure the validator was missing. i found it on top of the left side cash can gear, and though it was jamming and that would be it, but it wasnt.

should i just buy a dbv-200 and try it? it looks like a 200 power supply. any other options i could try? anyone have a working 200 for sale?

thanks

I just ordered a dbv-200 from one of the listed vendors here. It was about $50. Hope it fixes my problem for my S+.
