Williams 550 PERFECT GAME SLOT

I have a Williams perfect game video slot. 550 modle.   I am getting a CRC Currupt error when I turn on the game.
I am NOT good at these games it was a gift so I am hoping someone out there can help me out .
I was told that it could be just the battery ?

Post a screen shot of the error.  Typically CRC Corrupt is an eprom (the software chips) on the mainboard has gone bad, or is not making good contact.  There are several chips labeled XUxx (where xx is a two digit number).  These chips contain the computer program, graphics and sound for the game  When one of the chips goes bad or looses contact for various reasons, the slot machine will tell you that the program's integrity is not what is expected, thus the meaning of the CRC error.  The first step would be to remove the chips, clean the legs with like a pencil eraser, and re-insert.  Test again, if the error persists, you will most likely need to have the chips tested by someone with the correct equipment.

Post a photo of the screen with the error, but I've found that if the battery is low, it will say something to that effect and ask you to clear the game.
