Coin Hopper Coin Drop

Hi, I have just converted an S2000 from coinless to coin operated. I thought everything was working correctly but I notice a small anomaly. When I drop a quarter into the coin comparator via the slot coin slot I get the proper credit registering on the credit meter and it will let me play a spin. If I hit a win the coin hopper pays out properly.  What seems to be odd is that when I insert a coin into the machine the coins are not dropping into the coin hopper or coin tray but onto the floor under the stand. I did not notice it at first because the initial slot volume was set very loud and the floor under the stand is carpeted.  I think that I have the triangular metal coin deflector below the coin comparator installed properly.  No sure if it a settings/programming issue or another mechanical problem. 

I would appreciate it I could get some direction on this problem.

Either the hopper limit is set to 0.00 or the diverter is stuck. Check the limits first. You must have zero credits on the machine the change the limits. Press test switch, with door open go to menu 3: options/ machine options/ limits/ hopper.

OK,  I checked the hopper limit and it was set at 50.  When the machine is off the diverter solenoid in de-energized.  With the machine on but power removed from the solenoid the coin drops into the hopper.  With the machine powered on the solenoid immediately energizes which diverts the coin to the overflow.  Something must be telling the solenoid to energize all the time.  Not sure if the energize the solenoid signal is from the coin comparator, coin hopper, or the MPU sending a divert signal because of a setting or other problem within the slot. I could just leave one of the power wires disconnected from the diverter solenoid but I would rather continue to investigate the issue.

There are sensors on the hopper that tell it that it is full either raise the sensor to it's highest spot, (they are just screws in the side of the hopper bowl) or unplug the solenoid.
