IGT S plus Jackpot key help

Hello,




I am new to owning a slot machine and i have a 92 IGT + slant top slot machine. When I turn the jackpot rest key I notice that it seems you make changes to the machine by pressing the buttons ( spin, change, etc ) as they're numbers that display in the credit section and they change when you press the buttons. Does anyone know what all the numbers mean? I did find that one selection is the jackpot music but what I am looking for is to tighten up the odds. I am trying to use it as a piggy bank but every time i walk up to it with a hand full of quarters i always win before i can put all the coins in the machine. So I always have to open it up to put the quarts in the hopper. Wish i had that problem in Vegas!!

The odd's are controlled by the SS chip. You can go into your settings and make all wins go to the credit meter instead of paying out hopper. Push test button a couple times until a 2 or 5 is in window, turn key until 8-? shows push bet button to make it show 8-1. push test button to save and close lid.

As Elvis said, the SS or Reel chip controls the payout percentages. On an S+ the only way to lower the % is to change to a lower chip. I've added a link to the S+ bible which lists payout percentages for the reel chips. On an upright (I assume S/Tops are the same) push the test button until a 4 appears in the coins played display. 2 sets of numbers will be flashing. One is the game (SP) chip and the other is the Reel (SS) chip. Check the payout on your chip and choose one with a lesser percentage. That being said, machines go through hot and cold stages and likely you'll be getting that hopper filled pretty soon anyway. Because they are slot machines and they are meant to take your money.
