I know someone out there is way more familiar with this machine than I am. I just got this and know its a metered win machine. Also to play, credits have to be added. I have the extra wires attached to a meter coming from the bottom hole where the other 2 ac lines come out of. Can anyone tell me, why the 2 AC plugs and their purpose before I tear into it and have to discover it on my own... and, to add credits, is there a stand alone box for this(like the Seeburgs) or is it a central box that will add to a bank of machines when a certain machine is selected.

I have my 891-1 continental working as built, no mods. You should be able to switch between credit & coin wins.  Either mode, if there are credits on register, those have to be played first(even when in coin mode).  The choice between them is where the pay gets paid to.


If you could post pic of what your referring to I will compare/check. 


Are you talkung about extra set of ac plugs, that is to change to 220.  The molex scematic is available.

Thanks... that answers the extra plug hanging out the bottom question. Now my Hopper doesn't payout in coins... no place to hold coins. This machine appears to have been made for only credit play. That's why I think to two small spade end plugs are for adding credits to the meter. I should be able to figure that out as soon as I get the power issue worked out. Got to check incoming voltage at the fuse and transformer first thing.

I take it that there is a payboard, just no hopper.   When you get a chance a picture of the bottom of cabinet would be worth seeing. 


The only means for me to add credits to register is by wins.  This use's the correct cam(s) driven by the motor (correct cams are selected by odds disc) to add credits to meter and at the same time step payboard till correct amount has been paid (added) to register.  Register = meter. 


There was a post, either old site or current that talks about an addition added to 891 to remotely add credits to meter.  Looking at schematic, there's no tie between coin in switch and credit meter.

Thats what I am thinking as well. I have seen them hooked up in a bank and when you pay the attendant at the counter, they would go to a box behind them and select the machine that is to be played and then presses the right amount combination and it would add the credits to the machine. I had a seeburg that had the similar device but for a single machine.
Its all in the quest ...
