how long to charge a varta battery ?

s2000 with a fairly new varta battery. hasnt been used in a few months, and comes up with reel tilt 1 error. moving reels doesnt help, varta battery is at 2.6, so maybe its just too low. how long does a game need to be left on to fully charge a varta? i'd prefer to get the game working with the battery, before i may attempt to perm remove it.  dont want too may variables.

strangely, i popped out the coin battery to check the voltage, 2.95.  i popped in a fresh one, tested at 3.3  .  turned it on , got a cmos mismatch,  went thru the jackpot key motions, held test  button for 3 seconds, and now its working, no errors.  i left it on. dont want to leave it on for days, how long is long enough. 24 hrs? longer?

Why are you even using a Varta battery?
Can be removed on 500 series directly or with removal of the voltage regulator (U16) on 1270 boards. Problem goes away forever.

i like to be sure everything is stable and working before i do something like that.  if i know its stable, do a mod like that, and have trouble, i can assume its from the mod.  if its something ive done 100 times and 100times its worked, thats a different story.

What MPU do you have? If it's a 500 series, then the varta battery had nothing to do with your issue. With the coin battery, any time it gets below 3 volts the machine can start to act funny and at 2.8v odd behavior is expected. As far as charging time, at the voltage you were reading the varta would likely only take a couple hours to fully charge

there were both low. its on now, i'll check the varta tomorrow and see how it is.  if it holds a charge, and works well for a few weeks, i'll cut it off
