How to change buttons on a splash oled deck?

does anyone know how to remove the buttons on a splash deck?


I want to rearrange the buttons and move the dead ones off to the end.

So do they just pop off or what is the trick?

I learned how to do it from looking at replacement buttons -


Here's the thing on this deck they aren't buttons at all. The backboard of the deck has all of button electronics on it -


The "screen" of the button is the only thing that comes off -


#1 carefully peel back the splash rubber off the button. Please be careful as the rubber is the actuator for this deck as well!
#2 the button screen has two clips on either side that hold it in place,  with a small flat screwdriver a simple insert under the clip will have the screen pop off with zero force
#3 pull the ribbon cable out of the connector
#4 replace the screen by using a set of long needle nose pliers to reinsert the ribbon cable
#5 just click the screen back on top
