IGT S+ Bill Validator not working

IGT S+ SP1271 & SS4479
I tried a new game chip which was not compatible, so changed back to original, cleared codes, but now bill validator not working.
Went through options and 6 (Denomonation) is set to ZERO.
Checked bill drawer, rechecked motherboard seating, hopper firmly in, doors closed and coin slot is accepting quarters, so machine functioning on quarters only.
I have searched and found nothing on how to change the denomination setting, the reset key does nothing to that option.
Out of ideas, any help is really appreciated.

Marc you may need to get a set chip to enable the b/v. The Sp 1271 uses SET088/89/90/91/101/102/116/121. If all you are wanting to do is enable the b/v or change denomination a Set 15 will do that. Are you wanting to use something other than quarters?

Remember no credits on the machine while making changes.
