IGT ITTS REEL TOUCH 2000 Lobster Mania

When I turned it on all it does is beep & the upper monitor appears to be on but theres nothing on it. I checked the cd/dvd rom on the side of the monitor & there no disc in it.

There should not be a CD in the carrier.
Does it beep continuously?
Reseat all plugs going to the top box.
Open the top box check the coin battery voltage. If it's below 2.8v replace it. Also remove and reinstall the two memory sticks. Then see what happens when you turn the machine on.

It does beep continuously. I'm new to this stuff, can you tell me where the top box is located. Is it behind the top back glass? what do the 2 memory sticks look like that I'm removing & reinstalling ?  Sorry I'm such a pain - I'm a rookie

No problem carefully remove the top glass. The monitor will swing out. You must open the back of the monitor. It could be as many as 5 Phillips screws that you must remove to get into the top box, 3 on the back and 1 each on the top and bottom.  Inside you will basically find an old PC mother board. Be sure there is a hard drive installed on the right wall inside the box.
The sticks are standard computer memory there are 2 of them. There are clips on each end push them down and the memory will come out. Lightly you can clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, then reinstall.

Ok that worked & the monitor came on but now the machine is saying that the main battery is low ( closure m ) & the monitor says - There is a problem with the machine. Please call an attendant.

It's telling you that the battery on the MPU in the bottom of the cabinet neexs to be changed. Specifically the cmos coin battery down there
